BUFFY

Ch Canmio Da Chosen One
28/1/2005 - 29/3/2019

Buffy joined us here in late 2005 from Di Hobday (Canmio Kennels) and was loved and exhibited by my son to her Championship title.

She produced some lovely litters for us and has provided a wonderful foundation to our breeding in both temperament and conformation.

Buffy spent her final years with us relaxing in the sun and on the couch,  she was 14 years and 2 months old when she left us.

GRACE

Ch Tahrae Hot Summer Nites
3/1/2008  -  24/11/14
Our beautiful red girl,  gone but never forgotten.

The beautiful Grace was from our very first litter but sadly was lost after some health issues at aged 6.

She was a fun girl who loved the show ring and had some lovely wins during her time.

She blessed us with a beautiful litter of 6 puppies,  Garth being one of them who has gone on to produce some amazing puppies.

PETE

Ch Shantiah The Power O Love
11/2/2006 - 15/2/21

Pete joined us in 2009 from Claire Needham in NSW.  He has been a wonderful addition to our kennels and breeding and has fathered some beautiful puppies.

Pete is now enjoying a well earned retirement on our couch!

Pete passed away a few days after his 15th birthday when is body finally couldn't support him anymore.

SOPHIE

Ch Tahrae Step Back in Time
21/1/2010 - 31/5/21

Pete's first litter here with us (Buffy's second litter) produced this beautiful fawn girl, Sophie.

Sophie had a very successful show career,  being awarded Reserve Best Bitch at Melbourne Royal at just 9 months of age and going on to win Best of Breed at Adelaide Royal in 2012 after a 6 month break from the ring.

A clever little pocket rocket at just 13 1/2 inches tall,  Sophie is now desexed and enjoying retirement with her parents.

She is pictured here (standing) with her 1/2 sister Grace.

Sophie spent her last year or so with David and sadly was taken quite suddenly after a short illness.

LILY

Tahrae Sound of White

12/4/2011 - 4/6/2013

Taken from us far too early.

This beautiful soul also from Buffy and Pete was only with us for such a short time, passing away at just 2 years of age after a short illness.

Lily was an extreme personality and she is missed every day.

GARTH

This amazing boy is from the beautiful Grace and our boy Pete.

He has produced some stunning puppies who proudly achieved at a high level in the show world.

Most recently Garth has joined me in helping me with my job educating children at preschool and primary school levels on the best ways to stay safe around dogs and responsible pet ownership.  Love being able to spend my days with my dogs.

Garth is pictured here on the right with his father Pete on the left.

GIDGET

Ch Maltare Stormy Freckle
11/1/2009

Joining us in 2012 the lovely Gidget introduced some new and very old Australian lines into our breeding.

She has produced the stunning Georgie and Phoenix for us and is extremely important as our Number 1 meet and greet girl, as can be seen here with her loving the attention from the general public at Melbourne Royal Show.

Gidget now lives a peaceful retirement with my son David.

GEORGIE

Ch Tahrae Georgie Girl

30/11/2013 - 16/2/22

What can I say about this stunning girl,  high achiever in the show ring and an amazing mother and producer.

Georgie has been awarded several Reserve Bitch awards at Royal shows around Australia,  culminating in 2018 with Best of Breed and Best in Group Second at Adelaide Royal. Her daughter Raia, from her first litter (who belongs to friends Katrina & Jeanene) has had an equally impressive career so far,  including Best of Breed at 2017 Royal Melbourne Show.

Her second litter produced the equally impressive Alice.

Tragically Georgie was taken from us when her final litter were only 4 weeks old after being bitten by a tiger snake.

She is missed every day,  one of those dogs that touches your heart forever.

MAC

Ch Tunamara Hear Me Whisper
10/4/2014

Mac was a stunning addition to our kennel from fellow breeder and friend Christine Scott (Tunamara Kennels).  We can't thank Chris enough for her generosity.

Mac has done well in the show ring despite a big scare when he was only young which means he finds it hard to trust strangers.  Around us he is just a big clown and fortunately he has passed this onto his puppies which is apparent in his daughter Ekko.  Mac has gone one to sire several other litters,  we have retained 2 other daughters from some of these litters, Wyyni and Leckie.

PHOENIX

Ch Tahrae Phantom Nebulae
18/11/2015

Beautiful Phoenix earned her registered name due to us being told that her mother Gidget wasn't actually pregnant.

I can't thank Katherine Alexander from Blanerne Kennels enough for allowing us to once again use one of her beautiful boys to produce this lovely litter of 3.

Phoenix has not loved being shown but has at times worked her little butt off and achieved some amazing results including Reserve Bitch and Runner Up Best of Breed to her sister Georgie at 2018 Royal Adelaide Show.

Phoenix now resides happily in her forever home with Sue and Les.

EKKO

Ch Tahrae Ekkoes of the Past
12/11/2016

This little pocket rocket (13 inches) certainly keeps us on our toes.

Ably handled in the show ring by my partner Brian they are achieving well.  Achieving her final points to title Easter 2019,  she has had some impressive wins along the way, including finishing with Best Exhibit in Group for her title.

Ekko's beautiful litter in February 2020 produced the stunning Charli who is excelling in the show ring and a delight to live with.  Ekko will have her final litter late 2023 and then will be desexed and continue to work with me visiting kindergartens and primary schools to educate children on how to be safe around dogs.

TUCKER

Ch Tahrae Tucker Box JC
26/12/2016

Our Boxing Day litter was only acheived again due to the generosity of long time breeders Christine Scott (Tunamara Kennels) and Katherine Alexander (Blanerne Kennels).   The parents of this litter combined some lovely imported American lines with some old established lines that took us back to our lovely Grace's father.

Tucker is a stunning black boy that has proved his worth as a stud dog with some amazing litters to several very different bitches.

Slow to mature and look the part I am excited for the future with this boy.  Tucker has also recently ventured into the Lure Coursing field and is excelling.

After much soul searching Tucker went to live with my cousin Mary-Lou in June 2022,  while he is a loving and affectionate boy to us humans and the girls he was not always so easy around other boys which could make for interesting times within the pack.   He is loving his life on the 'farm' around other animals and the horses.

ALICE

Ch Tahrae Tuckers Daughter

21/4/2018

My heart skips a beat every time I look at this girl,  5th generation and everything I could have possibly hoped to have achieved with my breeding program.

Sound of body and personality,  funny and quirky,  our pick from a litter of 7 puppies,  each and everyone of them are simply stunning and fantastic additions to their new families.

Alice has had some amazing wins so far, including Best Baby of Breed at both Royal Adelaide Show (10 babies entered) and Royal Melbourne Show 2018.   Achieving her first Best of Breed award at exactly 6 months of age and over 1/2 way to her title by 6 1/2 months of age.

Alice achieved her title in August 2019 after an almost 6 month break from the ring.  She has also qualified for Victoria's puppy of the year competition to be held in February 2020.

Alice has only had one litter, which produced our pretty little Leckie,   while she is an amazing mother, pregnancy is not kind to her so she will be desexed late 2023 and will return to the ring as a neuter.

Bossy1.jpg

BOSSY

Ch Tahrae Bossmans Daughter

Bossy is a full sister to 'princess Alice'.   She returned to us in 2021 from friends in South Australia where she was shown and titled and produced a lovely litter of 7 puppies.

Bossy has had 2 litters for us since her return,  the energiser Stephanie and the lovely River.

Bossy is an easy going girl and a wonderful mother,  which was proven when she took over an additional 3 puppies after Georgies passing.

Bossy will have her final litter here with us late 2023/early 20204

CHARLI

Ch Tahrae Firestarter

22/2/2020

Charli is from our little pocket rocket Ekko and the lovely Shelby (Zanbelia Supernova).    Born at the start of Covid,  it took super effort to get her out and keep up her socialisation.

Charli took the show ring by storm 2 days before her 1st birthday,  winning a lovely Best of Breed and Best Puppy in Show.   Her winning ways have continued since then, with multiple classes in group awards.   She is closing in on that elusive 1000 points for Grand Champion.

She is such an easy girl to live with and just a dream to do anything with.

Trix log 1.jpg

Trix

Tunamara Golden Ticket

20/3/2020

Trix joined us in 2021 and once again we can never express our appreciation of the generosity of Chris and Dave of Tunamara Kennels for sharing their wonderful genetics with us.

Trix hasn't been shown much as being born at the start of Covid meant that she didn't have the opportunity to get out and about much as a puppy and when she finally made it to the show ring she really wasn't comfortable with it.

She is a funny girl who has fitted in with our dogs effortlessly.  She has produced her first litter in June 2023 to the lovely 'Mac', a combination of Tunamara lines both old and new.

Wynni

Tahrae E O Wyn

21/9/2020

Another of our Covid litters,  from beautiful Phoenix and the always reliable Mac.   Wynni is a quirky personality that always makes us laugh.

She is so easy and sweet to live with and loves being in the show ring but being a slow maturer and plain Jane fawn she has been slow to start her winning ways.

Wynni will hopefully have her first litter later this year.

LECKIE

Tahrae Reflections

20/3/2021

Miss Leckie reminded me so much of her Grandma Georgie when she was born that it inspired her name.   From our 'princess' Alice's only litter and Mac.

Miss Leckie does exhibit some of her mothers 'princesing' ways and expresses that quite strongly with her thoughts on being a show dog (in other words it just ain't happening').

Content to be a couch potato and snuggle bunny we are hoping that Leckie will be a big asset for us in the whelping box late 2023/early 2024.
